Acropolis Of Athens
Visit Athens, the place that has the reputation of being an architectural paradise. From the times of the Romans to the Classical, and Hellenistic periods the city has constructed some of the most impressive buildings and monuments.
The Acropolis is the most mind-blowing of all of these. Niched on a rock top above the city of Athens, it was built for the goddess Athena, who was considered the protector of the ancient city. Next to the iconic Acropolis, there’s the Parthenon Temple, the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, and the Erechtheion.
Since the city was named after goddess Athena, it was befitting to dedicate its most outstanding monument to her. Each of the monuments that make up the Acropolis is fascinating in its own right.
While visiting the city you can almost feel the presence of these magnificent and pristine white pillars looming over you. It is indeed thrilling for anyone who loves archeology, architecture or monuments and ruins of a bygone era.
