Ajanta Caves
The Ajanta Caves are a group of 30 rock-cut Buddhist cave monuments located in the Aurangabad district of Maharashtra, India.
The caves were rediscovered by a British hunting party in 1819, after having been abandoned for centuries. Today, they are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a popular tourist destination.
Notable for their exquisite murals, which depict scenes from the life of the Buddha and other Buddhist legends.
