Ani
Known as “The Forgotten Ghost City of the Northeast,” Ani is a ruined medieval Armenian city that was the capital of the Bagratid Armenian kingdom that covered much of present-day Armenia and eastern Turkey. Ani was once one of the largest cities in the world, and it is now an abandoned city visited regularly by tourists to view its ruins.
With an eerie atmosphere, Ani provides an almost haunted experience. The remains of the city are beautiful pieces of architecture that are marveled at when seen in real life. Overall, this site provides an enchanting feeling of what used to be a lively city.
