Buckingham Palace
Home to Her Majesty The Queen, This famous palace was built 300 years ago for the Duke of Buckingham and was then later acquired by King George III for his wife Queen Charlotte who gave birth to 14 of his 15 children within the palace walls she called home. It is one of the most famous landmarks in England, with a history of surviving the conflicts of wars. It still stands boldly in the heart of England even after air attacks in World War I and then later being bombed nine times in World War II. This palace is boasting in size having 775 rooms; 19 State rooms, 52 Royal and guest bedrooms, 188 staff bedrooms, 92 offices and 78 bathrooms and is one of only a few working royal palaces left in the world.
In the summer it opens it's royal gates to the public where you can tour certain parts of the palace. Alternatively, if you just want to pop by, you can snap that palace selfie out front and sneak a peek through the gates to spot the Queen's guard!
