Denali
Denali is a 20,310ft mountain of rock, snow, and ice, on a clear day it is possible to see the top of the mountain in all its majesty from the base. The view is astounding, considering Denali’s base sits at only 2000ft. This great scenic mountain is an awesome sighting spot for grizzly bears and black bears common in these parts, you can also see elks, Dall's sheep, and caribou among others.
According to the rangers that take care of the park and locals, having a glimpse of the mountain base is a special privilege considering the mysterious mountain it chooses when it wants to show its peak. For example, it could be clear today and hidden tomorrow or it could be clear for a week and then hidden for the next month. You never know what to expect, the only thing you can be sure of is that the experience will be magical.
Explore the Savage River and go on caribou spotting trips or hop on a sightseeing bus to view animals from afar, visitors must keep a safe distance of at least 25 meters from all the animals in the park with the exception of grizzly bears which requires 275 meters.
