By theleaf.app On 02 Jan 2022

This is one of the largest museums in the world, spanning over 5.1 hectares with a 5000 years art collection and 145 galleries. The museum has eight levels, with levels 1-7 dedicated to art from 1600–1815 and level 8 to Medieval and Renaissance periods. Admission to temporary exhibitions is mostly free and open to the general public.

A visit to the V&A guarantees that you'll see a display of Asian and European decorative art in level 1 with objects such as the Ardabil Carpet, the Mazarin Chest, and The Raphael Cartoons. In level 2, the Leonardo Da Vinci's Forster Codices, the Great Bed of Ware, the facade of Sir Paul Pindar's house, and other European Medieval and Renaissance art. Level 3 has metal works including jewellery, gold, silver and mosaics, jewellery, and also tapestries, paintings, and sculpture-like Shakespeare's First Folio.

On the next levels, you can see exhibits of architecture and contemporary glass, ceramics, and furniture like Pablo Picasso's Cavalier Sur Sa Monture, Marcel Breuer's Club Armchair. There are also restaurants, cafes, and even a bar; free tours are available to give visitors a rundown of what the museum has to offer. Be prepared to spend all day exploring because there's so much to see.
