Ilulissat Kangerlua
A Unesco World Heritage site of sky high icebergs the size of buildings, untouched tundra, landscapes of raw beauty, and the magnificent aurora borealis, Ilulissat Kangerlua is Greenland’s greatest tourist attraction. Considering that Greenland has one of the only two permanent ice sheets in the world, this is indeed an exploit. The unbeatable panorama has everything to make this place and Greenland in general a tourist hot spot in the near future which is why now is the perfect time to travel to the astonishing Ilulissat Kangerlua.
Locally known as ‘’Ilulissat Icefjord’’ this natural masterpiece of a glacier is 5km wide and 1100m thick. This glacier is the most prominent in the world outside of Antarctica, it flows at about 25m every day. How mind-blowing is that?
The pristine beauty of these apartment blocks sized icebergs that fill up the bay is simply mesmerising. Nothing beats the feeling of standing in front of the bay's mouth and gazing upon these almighty ice-fjords. If looking at them up close is not for you, there’s always an option to feast on this spectacle from the comfort of a helicopter or a boat.
Have you turned this and into a memory?
