Lake Pedder
Lake Pedder is a natural lake located in the Southwest National Park of Tasmania, Australia. It is known for its unique and beautiful pink hue, caused by the reflection of the surrounding granite mountains.
The lake is also home to a variety of aquatic life, including brown trout and eel. In 1972, the lake was flooded as part of a hydroelectric power scheme, causing widespread public outrage and leading to the formation of the Save Lake Pedder movement. Despite ongoing efforts, the lake remains flooded to this day and is protected as part of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area.
