What a delightful spontaneous stop this was as we were passing through. Great little history lesson for all of us learning why the water is a milky shade of turquoise blue ( the lake is a man-dug hole from a mine and the pigmented colour is due to the high mineral content in the water. These minerals were waste from years of alluvial tin mining which finished soon after World War 11. The mine was abandoned with the finish of the lease and the mine hole filled with water forming the Little Blue Lake Tasmania 📍
