Loch Lomond
A stretch of spectacular landscapes from east to west and central Scotland is Loch Lomond. With lush mountains, historic countryside towns, glens, and castle’s Loch Lomond is a wonderful experience. Every season offers a different landscape and varying outdoor activities. From boat trips on the loch to hikes in Trossachs, walks to Stirling Castle, fishing osprey, sightings of the waterfowl and winter geese, swimming, exploring the Japanese Gardens in Clackmannanshire, admiring the many sculptures and the history behind medieval villages like Aberfoyle and Callander.
At Falkirk, discover the remains of the Antonine Wall, Rome's frontier in north west Europe, the world's only rotating boat lift, West Dunbartonshire shipbuilding heritage, and Dumbarton Castle. Experience Inchcailloch’s rich oak woodland and tapestry of wildflowers, the wetland habitats at river Endrick. Spend a couple of days taking in the beautiful landscape, rich culture, history and lifestyle of the local population. Grab a meal in one of the many restaurants on the trail or a beer in one of the village pubs at the end of a long hike.
