Mount Fuji
With a reputation as one of the most famous mountains in the world, Japans tallest mountain stands 3776 metres high and is defiantly one picturesque view to feast your eyes on! Although classed as an active volcano, it has been dormant since its last eruption, in 1707. Mount Fuji is a sacred symbol of Japan and has been worshipped since ancient times. The mountain has several sacred shrines, caves, springs and even a waterfall. Every year thousands climb to the shrine on its peak; some believe it is an act of pilgrimage to do so.
Make sure to do your research before travelling to witness this snow-peaked beauty as its best visible only at certain times of the year, an autumn or winter morning is believed to hold the most breathtaking view!
