A protected area in Western Australia's Kimberley is called Prince Regent National Park, originally known as the Prince Regent Nature Reserve. The region was proposed as a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve in 1978. With no roads and dangerous tide-races and whirlpools preventing access to the sea, the region continues to be one of Australia's most isolated wilderness locations.
