Salar De Uyuni
Experience the world’s largest salt flat at Bolivia’s Salar de Uyuni. A remnant of prehistoric lakes that evaporated centuries ago, this remarkable sight will knock you off your feet. Looking at the thick crust of salt covered ground with polygonal patterns that seem to be hand-drawn extending all the way across the horizon and fading into infinity, you wouldn't believe you are still on earth.
When the surface is dry the salar de Uyuni is a vision of pure white expanse, but during the rainy seasons, nearby lakes overflow into the Salar causing it to reflect the sky in a beautiful tapestry of colors.
Local workers harvest lithium here, so it is not isolated but that doesn’t take away the magnificence of the landscape. Home to the world's first salt hotel, an escapade to Bolivia’s Salar de Uyuni brings you face to face with raw natural beauty in one of its rarest forms: it’s an out-of-this-world experience.
