Sarah Island
Sarah Island is a small island located in Macquarie Harbour, on the west coast of Tasmania, Australia. It was originally used as a penal colony for convicts during the early 19th century and was known for its harsh conditions.
Many convicts were sent to the island to work in the timber industry, and many died due to the brutal conditions. Today, Sarah Island is a popular tourist destination, with visitors able to take guided tours and learn about the island's history.
The island is also home to a variety of wildlife, including Tasmanian devils and echidnas.
