Singapore Botanical Gardens
The only botanic garden on UNESCO's World Heritage List, Singapore Botanic Gardens has an amazing collection of unique plants. The highlight of the garden is the Orchid Garden which is the largest in the world. The garden boasts over 60,000 plants, with about 1,000 different orchid species and 2,000 hybrid orchids on display. There are plants for every season, making it an exciting display all year round. The garden is spread over a surface area of about 82-hectares in the heart of the city.
Divided into sections, the Singapore Botanic Gardens has been around for over a century; it is 162-years old to be precise. With zones like the historic gardens of Tanglin and Bukit Timah, the attractions are endless. The garden is the only place in the world where you'd find Singapore's national flower, "Vanda Miss Joaquim", which is commonly known as the "orchid diplomacy". You can also explore the VIP Orchid Gardens with unique species named after dignitaries, heads of states and celebrities who have visited the gardens over the last century.
