Sossusvlei
Namibia’s Sossusvlei region primarily features the Namib Naukluft Park and the Sossusvlei and Dead Vlei highlights. The Namib Desert is the world's oldest desert and is exceptionally diverse in form, fauna and beauty. With breath-taking landscapes, animal and plant species, the region is unique in more ways than one. Known for its red, pink, and orange sand dunes and white salting bowls, the Sossusvlei region feels like an out of this world experience. The photos, documentaries and postcards from here are simply beyond words, begging you to explore this natural wonder.
From dawn to dusk, the dunes are a splendid display of vibrant coloured canyons that change with every passing second. You can choose to explore it on foot or on a 4x4. Sossusvlei is relatively isolated despite its popularity, the quiet and serenity making it even more stunning and mysterious. Namib Naukluft Park offers thrilling attractions like hundreds of camelthorn-tree skeletons, some of the highest sand dunes or the dead vlei. In the Sossusvlei region, there are many special guided hiking trails around the canyon that are totally worth at least a two-day visit.
