The Kamchatka Peninsula

Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, as it is locally called, is located around the Okhotsk Sea, the Beringovo Sea, and the Pacific Ocean in northeastern Russia. In the past, it was primarily visited by tycoons but has since opened its doors to ordinary citizens. It boasts over 300 volcanoes with about 36 of them active, 14 thousand rivers and streams, some springing from mountains and glaciers, 100 thousand lakes, and 414 glaciers. This UNESCO World Heritage site is absolutely stunning, it is home to the Valley of Geysers, which is the only geyser field on the Eurasia and the second-largest concentration of geysers in the world—making this region highly preserved.
