The Sagrada Familia
La Sagrada Família is a unique and fascinating architectural masterpiece and not just because it has been under construction since 1882. This giant Basilica found in Barcelona is the work of famous architect Gaudí whose vision was so grand that it still followed today though he passed on. This epic church has three different facades two of which are finished and the third under construction. The passion facade and the Nativity façade and the Glory facade respectively.
Over the years the construction and design have been highly criticized and surrounded by a lot of controversies but this hasn’t deterred the progress. The passion facade has been the most talked about because of its graphic nature and the fear it inspires. When completed this masterpiece will be the largest church in the world, it will have 18 spires, several towers, portals, and chapels.
Five generations have witnessed the progress of the Temple in Barcelona. Considering how long it has taken to come this far, no one can truly say exactly when it will be completed, in the meantime, this historical and architectural gem is open for you to visit.
